Mammoth Tooth is one of the most exotic of our fossil materials — it is literally the cross-section cut from the molar tooth of a 10,000 year old Woolly Mammoth. Striations that alternate between quartz-like material and softer layers make mammoth tooth a visually stunning material. We find these extrordinary fossils beneath the North Sea, they weigh up to 13 lbs and we must stabilize them for 2 years before we can use them.
